We stopped by on the way back from Blue Mountain. Lots of free parking, amazing selection of locally brewed and hand crafted beer. Fresh food, large portions, the ribs are amazing, fast friendly service, excellent prices, highly recommend.
Great food and good vibes! This place gets pretty busy and for a good reason! I went with a group of four and we all loved our food. Three of us got burgers and they were fantastic and one got the lamb pita and it was also very tasty. We got the brewshi to share and it was a surprising star!
OK! I’m sorry! But I just couldn’t help it! I had to have at least one bite of the garlic bread before taking a photo! I’ve literally been waiting a year for it! Full confession time: I’ve been working as a prep cook in the Northwinds Brewhouse & Kitchen in Collingwood since April 1st 2023, and it’s March 31st, so that’s about as close as you can get to being a year! I’m one of the local retirees who work a few short shifts a week here… gets us out and gives us a feeling of being able to contribute! I’ve been prepping primarily the pizza/garlic bread dough and the soft pretzels. And I’ve prepped the actual garlic bread, and I know for a fact that the final touch on each pan is to place 9 garlic cloves in a pattern on top… Pisssst… the recipe calls for 8, but no one so far seems to have figured out how to make a square pattern with 8 cloves.. we all opt for 9… a bit of inside info that’ll probably have Sous Chef shaking his head! Anyway, the food! Yet another confession… my soup was free… my choice for my free lunch today… and I paid regular price for the garlic bread… not included among the free lunch choices! And my ginger beer was free… it could have been any one of the numerous house beers, but I felt like the bite of the ginger beer today! So the soup… a delicious butternut squash soup… I was looking forward to a hardy bowl of soup… not happening… this butternut squash soup was so delicate that I wouldn’t have know it was butternut squash, had I not been in the kitchen an hour earlier and saw Sous Chef obsessively blending it to perfection! The sweet carrot and the house veggie stock must have added to the magic! Now back to the garlic bread… while I’ve personally prepped 100’s of them, I’ve never actually had one all to myself as part of a meal! Wow! While the butternut squash soup proved to be a surprisingly dainty yin, the garlic bread was a formidable yang! Hardy, but tasty, boldly flavourful, without being overwhelming! Loved it! But of course I’m biased! Though there’s got to be a good reason why I’m faced with stacks of empty pizza and garlic bread pans every morning when I come in to work! It all goes somewhere! And keeps going somewhere everyday! So maybe there are others who know how yummy it is as well! Just saying! Lol Bonne appétit!
Yes to everything we had on the menu. Their pizzas are deep dish and super thick, a must have. Fries are super crispy and their short rib was fall off the bone good. And the chocolate cake was dense, not too sweet, homemade, and so so good! Service was A++++. You have to come here!
We went here 2 nights in a row, first night I had the mushroom burger and it was good until I got a huge mouthful of blue cheese.. yuk! My wife had the wings both nights and they were great both nights. My 2nd day had the smash burger. It was amazing!! Also must say the fries are the best I have ever had. They are crunchy, have a spice on them and are to die for!! We will be back when we visit collingwood next. Oh we also had the apple cheesecake mmmmm mmmm! They also have a brewery on site and make their own excellent brews. There is a beer for all tastes.. excellent place & atmosphere
Great spot to get some tasty pub style food. They have great burgers and house brewed beer.
The orignal Northwinds Brewhouse staff were excellent, warm, accommodating, and genuine. We had several dishes and all were delicious. The smash burger was a messy delight. They do not take reservations, so first come first serve. Plan to wait or get there early but its well worth it. Rustic Brewhouse decor with an open kitchen. Fun spot we will visit again.
This place was so tasty post-ski day! All the portions were so generous and delicious. Tried the lamb pita, deep dish pizza, and steak sandwich - all were awesome! The chocolate stout cake at the end was to die for too. Must try!
Absolutely fantastic experience! Chantal was our server and was amazing! She anticipated our every need and took great care to make sure we had everything we could possibly want. Even offering lids for the dips so we could take them home with our leftovers. She was one of the best servers we have experience in a while. The food was also delicious! The pretzel bites were so good and the Carrot cake/cheesecake dessert was to die for. Thanks for a great evening!
Beer and Drinks were nice. The restaurant has a nice layout and open garage door which was great to sit in front today. The server could have been a bit more helpful and attentive. We didn't get all the options available, we overheard the other server giving a better presentation to the table next to us after we ordered. The food was served quickly, but it was just okay, a bit salty and missing a fresh element. I did enjoy the Backyard Blonde Beer, may come back to try a flight or stop by the Beer Shop attached to buy a few to take home.
